The New York State Gaming Commission approved Resorts World for a sports betting license. Their sportsbook platform, Resorts World Bet, is now available on desktop and mobile devices with an app. While the experience is very similar to PointsBet, it does offer its own odds and is separate from the Australia-based gaming operator.
Resorts WorldBET offers betting on all major US sports including baseball, basketball, football, and hockey. Users can also bet on college football, soccer, golf, MMA, boxing, tennis, and golf. You can bet on the spread, moneyline, or total for an individual game.
The Resorts World sportsbook also gives the option to place bets on live games as well as the ability to make a parlay, teaser, or Round Robin bets. On top of that, users can make future and first half/first quarter bets on various sports. There’s even an option to name a bet, which has a similar function found in PointsBet.
Resorts World Bet New York Promo Code October 2024
Resorts World Bet sportsbook does not have a promo code for New York yet. The online sportsbook is now available and features a $500 protected first bet for new registrants. This first wager is limited to fixed-odds options on the sportsbook, similar to one of PointsBet’s protected bet promos.

Resorts World Bet does not currently offer any bonuses or promotions beyond the sign-up offer. That will likely change as they continue to establish themselves in New York. While the platform is similar to PointsBet, there probably won’t be many similar deals. We expect a variety of unique promotions specific to the area, such as odds boosts or bonus offers featuring local New York teams.
Does Resorts World Bet Have the Best Odds?
Resorts World Bet New York is another option for sports bettors in the Empire State. You’ll find some competitive odds on a wide selection of sports.
How Do Point Spreads and Totals Work at Resorts World Bet?
Spread, moneyline, and total wagers are the basics of sports betting. Let’s examine the betting line for Game 1 of the Mavericks-Suns series in the NBA Playoffs to better explain how these particular odds work.
Team | Resorts World Bet Spread | Resorts World Bet Total |
---|---|---|
Mavericks | +6 (-110) | O 214.5 (-105) |
Suns | -6 (-110) | U 214.5 (-115) |
The Suns were a six-point favorite in the first game of this series. If you want to bet the favorite, do your due diligence and shop around for a lower number at other sportsbooks. In this case, FanDuel was dealing the Suns at -5.5 at the same -110 odds. These are standard odds in sports betting and they mean you need to bet $11 to win $10. Sportsbooks charge a fee called the vig to handle your bet. This is 4.36% at -110 odds. All things being equal, you make this bet at FanDuel because it’s the best number on the favorite.
The total for the Mavs-Suns game was set at 214.5. Over bettors will want to look for the lowest total being offered on the market, and under players will seek the highest number for their bets.
Does Resorts World Bet Have Good Moneyline Odds?
Let’s discuss moneyline bets now. On the moneyline, your chosen team only needs to win the game. It doesn’t matter by how many points. Here’s a comparison of moneyline odds for the May 2 MLB game between the Yankees and Blue Jays.
Team | Resorts World Moneyline Odds | DraftKings Moneyline Odds | FanDuel Moneyline Odds |
---|---|---|---|
Yankees | -121 | -120 | -108 |
Blue Jays | +100 | +100 | -108 |
Having multiple sportsbook accounts will allow you to research the best available odds and prices for your plays. This is a key to long-term success. You’re betting on the Yankees at FanDuel with odds of -108 versus a wager at Resorts World at -121. You can bet $108 (instead of $121) to win $100.
Sportsbooks try to find a balance between posting enticing odds for bettors and maximizing their theoretical hold. This refers to the amount of profit to be realized for each betting market. Resorts World’s theoretical hold here was 4.54% and FanDuel’s was only 3.70%. This is another good reason to compare odds and prices.
Shopping for the Best Futures Odds
Futures bets are often made on events that end a season. Take the World Series, for example. Futures odds are available on all MLB teams to win the 2022 World Series throughout the regular season. Resorts World Bet (+450), PointsBet (+450), and FanDuel (+450) all had the L.A. Dodgers as the favorite to win the World Series. But take a look further down the oddsboards and you can find great value by comparing futures odds at different sportsbooks. Resorts World offered +10000 on the Cubs winning the World Series. FanDuel (+13000) and DraftKings (+16000) offered much more advantageous odds for Chicago bettors. It always pays to shop around.
Resorts World sportsbook offers users nine different sports to bet on. These sports include, football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, MMA, boxing, golf, and tennis. Betters can place wagers on professional and collegiate football and basketball, as well as the MLS and European soccer leagues.
Other sportsbooks in the markets offer more sports and leagues to bet on. DraftKings allows users to place bets on rugby, snooker, motorsports, table tennis, volleyball, darts, and cricket as well as a variety of sporting leagues. Other sportsbooks offer cycling, handball, and esports on top of the sports listed above.
Resorts Sportsbook also has limited prop and future betting options. Interestingly enough, despite being on the PointsBet platform, there are not the same markets available. For example, NHL and NBA prop markets are very limited on Resorts WorldBET in comparison to PointsBet. A player to get over or under a goal, or at least a point, is available, but not options such as first goal scorer, player to score a goal and team to win, or two players to score a goal.
Once users make a Resorts World sportsbook account in-person, they can fund their accounts through their phone. Bettors can make deposits and withdrawals from a Play+ account. This gives users a prepaid card that they can use on dining, shopping, and betting at Resorts World. The Play+ services accepts various credit cards and PayPal as deposit options.
Other sportsbooks allow users to deposit and withdraw funds directly from and to their bank account, which provides the bettor with more convenience.
Resorts World Bet is very similar to the experience found at PointsBet on desktop and mobile devices. We’ll have a more complete rundown of the application in the near future as the platform has just been released.
Resorts World is brand new to the New York market, so we’d expect some issues here and there with the new platform. Their competitors have had more time to fine-tune their betting experience. They also have an upper hand on dominant market share, which Resorts World will have to catch up on as the platform matures. With more time, Resorts World Bet will likely add more features and convenient options that will put them up to par with sportsbooks like DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars.
Is Resorts World Sportsbook Legit?
Yes, Resorts World Bet is legit. Resorts World has obtained a gaming license in both Nevada and New York. Why Choose Resorts Sportsbook Over Illegal Betting Sites?
Illegal betting sites break New York law and are not regulated by the state’s gaming commission. Those sites could withhold funds or freeze your account without any notice. The bettor could not dispute this as they are breaking the law.
Resorts World has a gaming license from the state of New York. They must uphold a fair betting experience to maintain their license. Resorts World Bet will follow several rules determined by the gaming commission that will allow users to make bets safely.
Why Can You Trust Resorts Sportsbook With Your Money?
The New York State Gaming Commission oversees the activities of Resorts Sportsbook. The sportsbook cannot withhold or freeze funds because of the state’s governance. If a wager wins, the sportsbook will pay out the funds as they are obligated to do so. Users can also withdraw the funds from their account when they choose to.
Bettors will not have to jump through hoops to gain access to their money. Legal sportsbooks would risk losing their license if they do not follow the rules and regulations put in place by the state.
