New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart shared his positive thoughts about the team’s new head coach, John Harbaugh.
Jaxson Dart Talks About John Harbaugh
When the Baltimore Ravens fired John Harbaugh following the team’s Week 18 loss, the Giants went into attack mode. The team was not going to wait for Harbaugh to come to them.
At the advice of former Giants head coach and two-time Super Bowl winner Tom Coughlin, Chris Mara drove to Baltimore to meet with Mara.
From there, the Giants scheduled an in-person interview with Harbaugh on the afternoon of January 14. By nightfall, the Giants began negotiating for Harbaugh to be the next head coach.
A few days later, as the franchise’s 21st head coach.
During the courting process, one of the most important players who talked to Harbaugh was Dart. For Harbaugh to come to New York, he had to believe that Dart could be a franchise quarterback.
In turn, Dart had to believe that Harbaugh could elevate the Giants.
“When Coach Harbaugh’s name came up, that was the one that we were all really, really excited about and wanted to have,” Dart said. “So I think from just our standpoint, the guys just can’t wait to play for him and have the chance to get coached by him.”

Harbaugh’s resume speaks for itself. In 18 seasons with the Ravens, Harbaugh went 193-124, including postseason, with 12 playoff berths, four AFC Championship appearances, and a victory in Super Bowl XLVII
“Obviously, just from a football standpoint, [he has] the ability to create teams year in and year out who have a chance to compete at the highest level regardless of maybe the talent that they had one year versus the next,” Dart said. “He’s always put his team in really good situations to win. So that’s a coach that I really want to play for. And as a man as well.”
John Harbaugh Will Look to Rebuild Giants with Jaxson Dart
Harbaugh is exactly the type of coach the Giants need for a true culture reset.
Since 2017, the Giants have had one winning season and a lone playoff berth in 2022.
Conversely, Harbaugh only had three losing seasons with the Ravens. If anyone can install a culture of winning at MetLife, it’s Harbaugh.
“Immediately, the winning culture, the intensity, and then just the enthusiasm and love about football, that’s what he carries and brings to the team,” Dart said. “So, just can’t wait to get started and get rolling with him.”
As for what Dart expects, he said, “A whole lot of winning. That’s it.”
