NEW YORK, NY (October 28, 2019) – GF Sports, a live events and sports media entertainment company, and The Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group, an affiliate of Northwell Health, today announced a new partnership naming Orlin & Cohen as the official Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Partner for the New York Riptide of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) and the New York Open men’s tennis tournament, the only indoor ATP event contested in the United States. Orlin & Cohen will also have a branded patch on Riptide home jerseys.
As part of the partnership, Orlin & Cohen will provide all orthopedic and sports medicine services for Riptide players, including athletic training, game day medical needs, injury evaluation and treatment, physical therapy and all other player medical needs. The team has named Dr. James Paci, the Suffolk County Director of Sports Medicine for Orlin & Cohen, as Team Medical Director and Team Physician. Orlin & Cohen will also serve as the on-site medical team for all New York Open participating athletes.

GF Sports and Orlin & Cohen will also partner on a variety of health and wellness activities on Long Island. Orlin & Cohen will play a key role in the GF Sports “Annual Family Wellness and Fitness Festival” in Spring 2020. In addition, Orlin & Cohen will be part of GF Sports “Healthy Mind, Healthy Body Women’s Wellness in the Workplace Series.”
The partnership will also provide Orlin & Cohen with strong brand exposure through digital and fixed signage at NYCB Live, Home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum during Riptide games and at the New York Open. In addition, the company will be the presenting partner for the “Riptide Injury Report” and “GF Sports Medicine Minute” in-arena and across all digital platforms.
The Riptide open the 2019-20 NLL season on the road on Saturday, December 7 at 6 p.m. against the Halifax Thunderbirds. The team debuts at NYCB LIVE, Home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, December 28 at 7:30 p.m. against the Saskatchewan Rush. Orlin & Cohen will serve as the presenting partner for the home opener.
The 2020 New York Open is February 9 – 16 at NYCB Live, Home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
