The Boulders defeated the Jackals 5-4 on Sunday afternoon for their fifth straight series win in the rubber game of their weekend series.
Matt Oberste drove in two runs to lead the charge for Rockland on the afternoon. Richie Fecteau hit his third home run of the season in the fourth inning, and Rockland also got run-scoring hits from Blake Grant-Parks and Adam Ehrlich.
On the mound, Pasquale Mazzoccoli allowed just one earned run over six strong innings to earn the victory. With a runner on first and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning, Jake Zokan recorded back-to-back strikeouts to preserve the Boulders’ one-run lead, and Robbie Gordon closed out the victory with a scoreless ninth for his Can-Am League-leading sixth save of the year.
With the win, Rockland has now won 12 of its last 16 games.
The Boulders will begin a three-game series against Trois-Rivieres on Tuesday night. That series will conclude the team’s six-game road trip, after which Rockland will return home on Friday night to take on the Jackals at Palisades Credit Union Park.
