The year 2018 was certainly a year for the books in terms of boxing. Some of the best fights were witnessed and among the game changers, we saw the spectacular talent of boxers Srisaket Rungvisai and Juan Estrada in the super-flyweight clash, as well as Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz with Wilder defending his WBC title. What’s more is that we also got to enjoy the spectacular show put on between Stevenson and Jack. And all of this occurred in just the beginning of the year.
With such a successful end to the year, we have to wonder what 2019 holds for our boxing champs in the ring and with the amount of live bets taking place, it’s always good to be ahead on predictions. Here are some of the most anticipated boxing matches in 2019.
Deontay Wilder vs. Anthony Joshua
Both boxers have enjoyed much success in the past and both are heavyweight boxers that fans would want to see in the ring together. Assuming that Wilder beats Fury (Tyson Luke Fury), fans have voted for Anthony Joshua to take to the ring in hopes of match between the iconic boxing legends. Whether or not this will happen remains to be seen as Fury recently made a comment on why he would never fight Anthony Joshua. Regardless, fans are hoping to see the unlikely match as the two battle it out for the win in a nightlife event.
Terence Crawford vs. Errol Spence Jr
Although it is highly unlikely, it can be dreamed about having two star boxers, Crawford and Spence Jr in the ring, as both share the same level of skill. Furthermore, we can only imagine that betting on the match might prove insanely lucrative for online bookies as well as fans putting money where their mouths are.
Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovki III
According to those who witnessed the first fight between the two boxers, there is unfinished business which needs to be settled in the ring. To do so anywhere other than Vegas just wouldn’t make sense.
Needless to say there are quite a number of other fights that fans would pay to see and 2019 may just allow for these events to take place. We would be happy if we could just see one of these fights and in all likelihood there is a good chance at least one of them may become a reality. Watch this space!
