The Yankees have come to terms on a deal to bring back left hand reliever Zach Britton.
The 31 year old will receive a reported three year, $39 million dollar deal with an option for a fourth year. According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the deal will feature an opt out after two years.
Britton had 3 saves in 25 games for the Yankees after he was acquired from Baltimore right before last year’s trade deadline. The left hander had a tough time in the AL Wild Card game last season but pitched well against the Red Sox in the ALDS.
Once David Robertson signed with the Phillies, the Yankees ramped up their efforts to sign Britton to strengthen their bullpen heading into the 2019 season.
