The Jets followed my plan to the “T” last week. Throw the ball downfield, minimize turnovers and stay away from Chris Harris and Von Miller. I would like to take credit, but I am not so sure they received my
memo.
But, great job nevertheless. There is something about this team led by coach Todd Bowles. I like the energy that surrounds this New York Jet team.
Although, they are 2-3 and are in 4th place in their division, the arrow is pointed up. I expect a Jet victory this week. They are the better team and
Indianapolis is still dealing with a few injuries on both sides of the ball.
Although, they are at least getting back Anthony Castonzo and Marlon Mack, it won’t be enough. The Jet will also be down two out of their three top corner backs this week with Trumaine Johnson and Buster Skrine being ruled out.
I don’t think it will hurt The Jets in this game. Sure, Andrew Luck is rounding back to form but protection has been an issue this season ad it will continue to be an issue vs The Jets.
Look for The Jets to continue to pound the rock with the running game to open the window to get the ball to downfield to Robbie Anderson. Good to see him being used properly last week.
I expect their front seven to dominate this game and help take the pressure off the undermanned secondary.
The pressure will be applied by Luck who has broken the record for most passing attempts through the first five games with 245 attempts. That will continue this week considering the lack of a run game.
Also, expect Sam Darnold to get his New York Jets record evened up at 3-3.
