October 8, 2018, Napa, CA – Korbel California Champagne once again held the highly-anticipated “Spray-Off” Challenge where defending champion Phil Mickelson took home first place and $5,000 from the Korbel Toast Life® Foundation to benefit the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation on October 3 at Silverado Resort in Napa, Calif.
Just as golf pros made their way to the 17th tee, Korbel challenged players to show off their best champagne-celebration skills during the third-annual Spray-Off as part of Wednesday’s Pro-Am. Mickelson once again took home the winning title after popping the cork over 77 feet for the furthest distance of the day. With 43 wins on the PGA Tour, Mickelson has had a lot of practice popping corks on the course.
This year’s competition brought together 34 PGA Pro-Am players, all vying for the championship to benefit charity. Contending participants included second place winner J.J. Spaun with a distance of 68 feet followed by Whee Kim with a 62-foot cork shot earning him third place in the Korbel Spray-Off.
