Jose Bautista Traded To The Phillies

The Jose Bautista era has come to an end with the veteran slugger going to the Phillies for a player to be named later and cash.

The Mets needed to make this move with Brandon Nimmo coming back as soon as tonight and Jay Bruce back in the lineup.

The 37 year-old has been a shell of himself, hitting .204 with nine home runs and 37 RBI. He played both corner outfield positions as well as third and first base for the Mets.

He now goes to the Phillies and will be in the middle of the race for the division and Wild Card.
