(New Britain, Conn., Aug. 18, 2018) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the New Britain Bees 3-0 on Saturday night in the second game of a three-game series at New Britain Stadium.

Miles Williams opened the scoring in the second inning with his second home run in as many games. He was quickly followed by Dioner Navarro, who hit his first home run as a Duck in the third inning to give Long Island a 2-0 lead.
The Ducks finalized their scoring in the sixth inning when Daniel Fields doubled and later scored on a passed ball. Fernando Abad and Logan Ondrusek each pitched scoreless innings of relief to keep the Ducks ahead. Francisco Rodriguez shut the door with a scoreless ninth.
Hector Silvestre (1-0) picked up the win, dealing six shutout frames, allowing just five hits and two walks, striking out two. Chris Reed (0-2) took the loss, allowing two runs on three hits over three innings of work, striking out four. Rodriguez earned his 23rd save with a scoreless ninth inning, striking out two.
Navarro paced the Flock with two hits, including his solo home run.
The Ducks conclude their three-game series against the New Britain Bees Sunday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. from New Britain Stadium. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders).
