The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has announced the line-up for PFL4, the 12-bout fourth regular season event, that will be held at NYCB LIVE in Long Island, NY, home of the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, on Thursday, July 19. PFL’s “true sport” format continues to own Thursday nights for MMA fans this summer. At the highly-anticipated fight night event, heavyweight and featherweight fighters will step into the ring again for make-or-break bouts that will determine who advances to the bracket-style playoffs. PFL4 tickets are on sale now and fans across the world can watch all fights live and for free on NBCSN, Facebook Watch and pflmma.com.
The heavyweight and featherweight fighters competed for the first time at PFL1 at Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden. MMA fans are eagerly awaiting the return to the cage of Long Island-native and featherweight Andre Harrison and featherweight fighter Lance Palmer. In the heavyweight division, Francimar Barroso, Jack May and Kelvin Tiller lead the playoff race, having taken down their opponents in the first round at PFL1. Alex Nicholson is only one point behind his cohorts after his flying knee knockout of Jake Heun at PFL1.
“At PFL4, we expect the fights to get even more intense, because fighters know this is their last chance to get points on the board to make it to the playoffs and their chance at the $10 million post-season prize pool,” said Ray Sefo, PFL’s President, Fighting Operations. “MMA fans should buckle up because PFL’s regular season and playoff format is going to lead to some incredible action in the cage.”
At the end of PFL4, the eight fighters in each of the heavyweight and featherweight division will qualify for the win-or-go-home playoffs, all leading up to the December 31 championship event, where the winner in each weight class will win the title and a $1 million prize.
The 2018 PFL season features 126 fights on Thursday nights in seven regular-season events, bracket-style “win-or-go-home” playoffs, and a $10 million post-season prize pool—the largest prize pool in the history of MMA. The season began with 12 athletes in each of six different weight-classes. Eight fighters from each class will earn their way into the playoff round, and one fighter in each division will earn the title of champion.
Tickets can be purchased at pflmma.com, ticketmaster.com, nycblive.com or at the Ticketmaster Box Office at NYCB LIVE.
