Ducks Drop Low-Scoring Finale in Lancaster

(Lancaster, Pa., June 24, 2018) – The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in the finale of a four-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

Both teams were held off the scoreboard until the eighth inning. Anderson De La Rosa reached on a fielding error, stole second base, then scored on an RBI double off the bat of Tyler Bortnick. The Ducks were unable to tie the ballgame in the top of the ninth, going down in order.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Jair Jurrjens left the game with two outs in the second inning with an apparent injury after retiring the first five batters in order. Nate Reed went five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and walking five while striking out five.

Kevin Munson (3-1) earned the win, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning. Colton Murray (0-1) suffered the loss, pitching two-thirds of an inning and allowing an unearned run. Matt Reynolds converted his 14th save of the season with a one-two-three ninth inning.

Cody Puckett paced the flock with a pair of hits in the ballgame.
