Sweet Chick Has The Same Great Food In A New Queens Location

Sweet Chick, whose chicken and waffles have become a Citi Field staple has opened a new location in Long Island City just a few miles away from the home of the Mets. (You know for when the Mets on the road.)

The fourth location in the city with two locations in Brooklyn and one in Manhattan has become a specialist for Southern Style comfort food with fried chicken, short ribs, and Belgian waffles highlighting its menu.

Founded by John Seymour and the musician Nas, this personable and cozy location, is placed in a prime LIC location that is an up-and-coming thriving neighborhood. Unlike any of the other Sweet Chicks, this location features a private Jazz room heavily inspired by Nas’ father, jazz trumpeter Olu Dara. This room can be used for intimate events for groups of up to 25.

Located at 46-42 Vernon Blvd, it is a different take on the Sweet Chicks in Brooklyn and Manhattan. This one is by far more cozy and intimate for a better dining experience.

The food is similar to the other locations. The recommendation is to try the Mac and Cheese. It was excellent. The Grilled Octopus was a very interesting change of pace. And the Shrimp and Grits are a very good spicier treat.

With three flavors of butter, the waffles work as a meal and for desert.

For those in the mood for some Southern cuisine, go visit Sweet Chick – be it at Citi Field or one of their four other locations in  the city.
