Fordham Wins Battle Of The Bronx

The latest battle of the Bronx Sunday afternoon in the Bronx between Fordham University and Manhattan College went to the host Rams up at Rose Hill.

Will Tavaras tied a career high with 19 points and added five steals with four rebounds leading Fordham to a 70-57 win in this annual game that pits the two premiere and historic college basketball teams in New York.

Reserve Perris Hicks came off the bench and converted his six shots from the floor. He scored a career high 15 points for the 2-4 Rams.

Fordham trails the historic series 57-53.  Joseph Chartouny had five steals for Fordham and his team finished the game with a school record 17, as the Manhattan Jaspers early season mark dropped to 2-4.

Rich Williams scored 12 point for Manhattan and Calvin Crawford added 11 points with 10 rebounds.
