Offense Erupts as Ducks Squish the ‘Fish

(Bridgeport, Conn., June 3, 2017) – The Long Island Ducks defeated the Bridgeport Bluefish 10-1 on Saturday night in the third game of a four-game series at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Long Island plated single runs in the first and second inning against Bluefish starter Jonathan Albaladejo. A run-scoring groundout from Lew Ford and an RBI single by Delta Cleary Jr. put the Flock ahead 2-0.

Three more runs in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Giovanny Alfonzo and a two-run single by Anthony Vega increased the lead to five. Another trio of runs in the fifth ballooned the advantage to 8-0. A sac fly off the bat of Cleary Jr. and a two-run single by Alfonzo did the damage.

The Ducks rounded out their scoring with two more runs in the sixth. Back-to-back two-out RBI singles by Alex Burg and Marc Krauss highlighted the inning.
