Rockland County, NY – The CanAm League announced today that Rockland Boulders third basemen Cody Regis has been named the CanAm Player of the Week, and pitcher Richard Salazar is the CanAm Pitcher of the Week, all sponsored by Pointstreak.
Regis in his first year with the Boulders is currently batting .372, which leads the Boulders and is as well as the fifth in the CanAm League. His three home runs ranks third on the team and his seven RBI’s, has him tied for third with Jared McDonald. The Los Angeles, CA native and UCLA University alum was spent part of the 2016 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks double A affiliate Mobile BayBears of the Southern League, as well as the advanced A Visalia Rawhide of the California League.
Salazar receives the honors as the CanAm Pitcher of the Week, after going 3-0 in three starts. In two starts this week, the left-hander threw thirteen innings, giving up just three runs, on thirteen hits, while striking out thirteen. His seventeen strikeouts so far on the season, leads the team, and his 2.50 ERA is ranked fourth among all CanAm Pitchers.
