Mets Take A (Tyler) Pill For The Bullpen

In order to help their beleaguered bullpen, the Mets prescribed a pill.

Tyler Pill that is.

The team called up Pill, who was 4-1 with a 1.60 ERA (10 earned runs/56.1 innings) in nine combined starts with Las Vegas and Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League this year. He allowed 51 hits, issued 15 walks and struck out 26.

To make room, the Mets sent down Rafael Montero, who was terrible again last night. They also transferred Seth Lugo to the 60-day disabled list to make room on the 40-man roster.

Pill, 27, will be available to tonight’s game in Pittsburgh and will wear No. 56.
