Mets Hosted Gift Of Life Reunion Last Night At Citi Field

Before last night’s Met game against the Padres, the club – along with The Gift of Life – hosted a reunion of sorts in one of the suites at Citi Field.

Stem cell transplant recipient Wendy Wax, met for the first time her donor Ruchail Prupis for the first time in the suites thanks to the Gift of Life.

Wax, who resides in New Jersey, suffered from leukemia, but thanks to a transplant facilitated by Gift of Life Marrow Registry, she has rebuilt her life. Both Wax and Prupis, who are anonymous (even to each other) until the meeting, met for the first time last night.

Gift of Life Marrow Registry is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and adults suffering from leukemia, lymphoma, other cancers and genetic disorders find matching donors for blood stem cell and marrow transplants. www.giftoflife.org
