NFL Preseason Schedules Released

The NFL released the schedules for the 2017 Preseason games on Monday. The New York Giants will play the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cleveland Browns as well as their two traditional preseason opponents, the New York Jets and the New England Patriots.

Outside of the Giants, the Jets will face the Tennessee Titans, Detroit Lions and, for the 17th consecutive season, the Philadelphia Eagles. The Jets have won eight of the last nine preseason games vs Philly.

The Giants will be the home team when they square off with the Jets in the annual MetLife Bowl in Week Three. This will be the 49th consecutive summer in which the teams will meet since the series began in 1969. The Giants won the 2016 meeting, 21-20. The Jets lead the preseason series, 25-22-1, with the one tie coming in 1972.

This will be the 13th consecutive year the Giants will close the preseason against the Patriots. The Giants won last year at MetLife, 17-9, and lead the preseason series, 17-9. The two teams first met in the preseason in 1971.

The Giants will play one nationally-televised game, Monday, Aug 21 at Cleveland. The Jets will not appear on national television in the preseason.
