So what’s up with A-Rod?
We will know at 11 am today, as the Yankees called a press conference with Alex Rodriguez.
No one really knows what’s going to happen with the fallen third baseman. The Yankees are talking and it looks like everyone is being pretty much tight-lipped on this.
However, we can speculate. A-Rod could be released or he could retire. The Yankees are on the hook for about $27 million, so it’s probably the former rather than the latter.
Rodriguez is having a miserable year at the plate, hitting .204 with nine homers and 29 RBI. Manager Joe Girardi, who will be at the presser along with general manager Brian Cashman, refuses to play him, even the other night against the Mets’ Bartolo Colon. A-Rod held a .411 career lifetime average facing the righthander.
So if he’s just going to rot on the bench, the Yankees probably will release him.
We won’t know until the morning.
Watch all of this will be for something else.
