New York City FC hosted Military Appreciation Day at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, July 3 to help celebrate United States Independence Day and all those who serve the country.
Over 1,300 tickets were purchased by local businesses and donated to members of the military and their families.
Active members of military branches held an oversized United States flag in the shape of the country.
The National Anthem was performed by the Air Forces’ “Singing Sergeants” group, the official chorus of the U.S. Air Force.
Military personnel were included in the Tunnel of Honor along with NYPD and FDNY.
Joint military services presented the Nations’ colors during the National Anthem.
A 17-year veteran of the Navy took part in the official coin toss.
The “Supporters of the City” video series, which airs prior to each home match, featured an 18-year U.S. Air Force member.
City Beats, New York City FC’s unique ensemble band, played a special military tribute at half-time.
