Sandy Alderson fainted during the press conference announcing the signing of manager Terry Collins to a two year deal.
The 67 year-old Mets general manager was in a a breakout session with print reporters and was answering a question about Juan Larages’s elbow when he started to fall backwards.
Fortunately, he was caught as he collapsed with reporters surrounding him.
He was out for 30 second when he woke up.
“Ok, where were we?” he quipped as he was helped to a chair.
Alderson was given a bottle of water and left the room. According to the Mets, Alderson did not eat breakfast this morning and was lightheaded. Compound that with the heat from the press conference light and he blacked out.
He was examined by team trainers and will see a doctor. He should be fine.
