Yankees HOPE Week Day 5

The Yankees recognized Frank Squeo, founder of the non-profit organization Baking Memories 4 Kids. In 2007, at age 47, Frank was diagnosed with Stage III testicular cancer. While receiving treatment, he met many children also battling cancer, and he promised himself that he would do something to help these children someday. With his return to health, the Rockland County, N.Y., resident founded Baking Memories 4 Kids, a non-profit organization that bakes and sells chocolate chip cookies during the holiday season. The proceeds are used to fund all-expenses-paid vacations for the families of children with life-threatening illnesses to Give Kids the World Village — an Orlando, Fla. resort that is designed specifically for children with disabilities and illnesses.

Alex Rodriguez, CC Sabathia, Nathan Eovaldi, Ivan Nova, Adam Warren, Brendan Ryan and Greg Bird surprised Baking Memories 4 Kids’ founder Frank Squeo at Rockland BOCES and helped him bake cookies. Additionally, during a pregame on-field ceremony at Yankee Stadium, 4-year-old Noah Diaz and his family were surprised with an all-expenses-paid trip to Give Kids the World Village in Orlando, Fla.
