Wolf Pack Weekly

The Wolf Pack (26-13-3-2, 57 pts.) moved into second place in the Northeast Division, and fourth spot in the Eastern Conference, this past week, by sweeping a pair of home games coming out of the All-Star break. A lower-bowl sellout crowd of 6,671 Friday night saw the Wolf Pack’s highest-scoring game in over 12 years, as the Pack and Bridgeport Sound Tigers combined for 14 goals in an 8-6 Hartford win. Then on Saturday night, a throng of 10,789, the largest Wolf Pack crowd in nearly two years, packed the XL Center for a 3-1 Pack triumph over Springfield. The line of Joey Crabb (2-2-4), Chris Bourque (1-2-3) and Oscar Lindberg (0-2-2) combined for nine points in Friday’s wild offensive showcase, and Danny Kristo added two goals and an assist in that game and scored the game-winner in Saturday’s victory.

This week:
After having played 16 of their last 22 games inside the friendly confines of the XL Center, the Wolf Pack hit the road for their next four, eight of their next nine and 18 of their next 24. This week sees the Pack play a pair of Northeast Division road games, visiting Eastern Conference-leading Syracuse on Wednesday night and traveling to Bridgeport on Saturday. Both games face off at 7:00 PM.

Wednesday, February 4 at the Syracuse Crunch (War Memorial Arena), 7:00 PM
• The 28-11-5-0 Crunch are tops in the Eastern Conference with 61 points, but are only four points up on the second-place Wolf Pack in the Northeast Division. Coach Rob Zettler’s Syracuse club comes into the week on a four-game winning streak.
• This is the Wolf Pack’s last of four visits on the year to Syracuse, where the Pack are 1-2-0-0 thus far. Overall in the season series, the Pack are 2-4-0-0.
• Crunch captain Mike Angelidis (14-13-27 in 44 GP), who has five of his 14 goals on the year against the Wolf Pack, is riding a four-game point-scoring streak (1-4-5).
• Broadcast – live with Bob Crawford on Fox Sports Radio 1410, on-line at www.foxsportsradio1410.com and on iHeartRadio. Video streaming at www.ahllive.com.

Saturday, February 7 at the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (Webster Bank Arena), 7:00 PM
• This is the eighth of ten meetings on the year between the Wolf Pack and their Nutmeg-State adversaries the Sound Tigers, and the Wolf Pack’s fourth of five visits to Bridgeport. The Pack are 4-0-1-0 in the last five encounters after losing the first two, and they have won two of their previous three trips to the Webster Bank Arena.
• The Sound Tigers are 0-4-1-0 in their last five games and stand fifth in the Northeast Division, at 19-20-5-1 for 44 points. That puts them nine points behind fourth-place Albany and 13 points in back of the Wolf Pack.
• Alan Quine had two goals and two assists in the Sound Tigers’ last game, a 6-4 home loss to Portland Saturday, to take over the team leadership in scoring. He has 11-25-36 in 44 games.
