Hotbox Sports Signs First NHL Partnership With New Jersey Devils

For the first time in the NHL, Hotbox Sports Ventures, a New Jersey-based fantasy sports technology and content provider, will enter into a sponsorship agreement with a team, the New Jersey Devils announced today. As part of the deal, the Devils will promote HotBoxSports.com, as it introduces a new style of fantasy sports gaming to hockey fans around the world in late November. The sponsorship pact will promote HotBoxSports.com throughout Devils assets including in-arena, media and social channels.

“Fantasy sports plays an important role in a fan’s experience, and we wanted to bring Devils fans a game where they could focus on their favorite players and their favorite team,” said Scott O’Neil, CEO of the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center. “Our collaboration with Hotbox Sports, offering both free-to-play games and this first-of-its-kind entry-fee game, will ensure Devils fans have an unrivaled fantasy game experience.”

Continuing the organization’s history of innovative partnerships, the Devils and Hotbox Sports’ approach to fantasy sports will deliver a social and team-focused game, featuring players from our roster and only our games.

Hotbox Sports offers leagues and media companies new ways to monetize their online and mobile marketing assets while creating integrated sponsor activation opportunities for partners and advertisers.

“Hotbox Sports is very proud to be working with the New Jersey Devils on this new and engaging fantasy game for sports fans,” said Terry Lyons, Chief Marketing Officer and head of business development for Hotbox Sports Ventures. “We are thrilled to activate our first entry-fee product with strong sponsorship support from the New Jersey Devils, our longtime business partner who sees the future of Hotbox Sports in the exciting space of fantasy sports.”

A leader in the fantasy gaming category, Hotbox Sports works with more than 25 US- based professional clubs and is growing its international reach exponentially in 2014. HSV also has created and actively markets free-to-play products such as “Bracket Games,” “Commissioner Style” Fantasy Leagues for most major sports, “Team Fantasy Challenges,” “Customer Rewards Games” and other highly engaging, mobile and sponsor-friendly products.
