MSG Network reporter Tina Cervasio, a WISE (Women in Sports and Events) NYC Metro Chapter member and a New Jersey steering committee member, will serve as emcee when the national organization launches WISE/R, a unique, day-long symposium on Monday, June 16, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel (1535 Broadway at 45th Street) in New York City.
WISE/R is designed to equip women with the professional development skills to succeed in the business of sports. Experts and business leaders participating include: Yankees senior vice president Jean Afterman, Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman, and ESPN CFO Christine Driessen.
In addition, on the following afternoon (Tuesday, June 17) WISE (Women In Sports and Events) celebrates the 20th anniversary of the organization’s national awards luncheon by honoring four recipients with its 2014 “Women of Distinction” Award –Ackerman, Driessen, longtime JP Morgan Chase sports exec Barbara Paddock, and Judy Sweet, co-founder Alliance of Women Coaches – at the Marriott. WISE NYC Chapter president Van Adams will be among the 10 chapter representatives, joining Kathleen Francis, national chair of WISE, at the two-day conclave. WISE, founded in New York in 1993, is recognized as the leading voice and resource for women in sports.
