Yankees legend Willie Randolph will be appearing at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center on May 21 from 6-8 p.m. to sign copies of his new book, The Yankee Way: Playing, Coaching and My Life in Baseball.
Randolph, a six-time All-Star second baseman, played for the Yankees from 1976-88. During that time he won two World Series championships and served as the team’s co-captain for three seasons.
One of the classiest and most popular players in recent Yankees history, Randolph also spent 11 years as a coach on Joe Torre’s staff, and won four more championships. In 2005 the Brooklyn native joined the Mets, becoming the first African-American manager in New York City baseball history. He became the first manager in major-league history to improve his team’s record by at least twelve games in each season.
