Dan Lauria, who starred in the title role in the last big sports-themed show on Broadway, ‘Lombardi,’ returns tonight for a “talkback” session for ticketholder following the 8 p.m. performance of “Magic/Bird” at the Longacre Theatre. Lauria will be joined on stage by friend Peter Scolari, who is playing legendary coaches Red Auerbach and Pat Riley in the play.
“We are very proud to be able to have Dan Lauria, who was so amazing in ‘Lombardi,’ back in New York for this special Wednesday night talkback,” producers Fran Kirmser and Tony Ponturo said. “His thoughts on the play, alongside longtime friend and our current ‘Coach’ Peter Scolari, will make for a very unique event for all the sports fans who have been flocking to see ‘Magic/Bird’ since our opening last week.”
Tickets for the special talkback are as low as $35.00 and are available at Telecharge.com. For groups of 10 or more call 212-554-3430.
The talkback with Dan Lauria is the latest in a series of special events that the ‘Magic/Bird’ production team is bringing to the theater goer. On April 13, Magic Johnson hosted a special matinee talkback to a full house, while a host of retired NBA stars will be on hand for “Legends of Basketball Night” on April 19, and the United States Olympic Committee will host a special “Olympic Athlete Night” on April 17. Other special events will be announced in the coming weeks.
