Mohamed Sanu is at it again. As soon as Chas Dodd was rightfully reinserted as the Rutgers starting quarterback in the fourth quarter against South Florida last week, he started to find his favorite receiver again and again.
That didn’t stop against Army yesterday before 30,028 at Yankee Stadium.
Dodd hooked up with Sanu for 13 receptions for 129 yards. With those catches, Sanu broke the single season Rutgers and Big East record.
The junior wide receiver from South Brunswick is now an almost certain first round NFL pick in 2012.
With the win, Rutgers improved to 7-3 on the season. Not bad for a team picked to finish last in Conference by the media preseason.
Rutgers can enhance its gaudy resume on Saturday with a win over Cincinatti. That would put the Scarlet Knights in a three-way tie for first in the Big East.
After the game, many speculated that coach Greg Schiano is in the running for the now vacant Penn State job. He was once a defensive assistant there.
We don’t feel that Schiano,if offered would take the job. he has tremendous job security at Rutgers, Penn State could receive the death penalty going forward and Schiano has his best recruiting class ever coming in and there is a feeling that some Penn State decommits may take a Rutgers offer.
Our feeling is that Pat Fitzgerald, now Northwestern coach will be the next Penn State coach.
