Tuesday Morning Mike

No matter how you spin it, the Patriots are the luckiest team in sports history! The Bills led 24 to 19 with under two minutes to play.

The Bills just had to secure the football and take a knee and the biggest upset in Week 1 was in the books. But for some reason Leodis McKelvin decided to return the kickoff instead of downing it in the end zone.

Now, instead of the Jets having a chance to go up two games on the Pats in the AFC East, Rex Ryan’s crew will have the pressure on them not to fall one game back. Will this be another Patriots slaughtering of the Jets at the Meadowlands or will the Prince of Troy, Mark Sanchez sleigh Bill Belichick’s invaders?

Final score: Patriots 24, Jets 13

The Giants had an unimpressive win against the Redskins at the Meadowlands Sunday with DT Albert Haynesworth and company holding New York to only 103 yards rushing. This week the Giants head to Dallas and the Cowboys lackluster defense might be just what the Giants need. Despite beating the Bucs 34-21, the Cowboys allowed 450 total yards, 97 on the ground to Cadillac Williams on 13 carries.

Final score: Giants 27, Cowboys 21.

With 93 wins it looks like the Yankees will have the best record in the AL and will host the Tigers in the first round of the ALDS. The Bombers haven’t advanced to the LCS since 2004 – remember what happened against Boston? This year the Yankees have a true ACE in CC Sabathia and have options in Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes. This is the Yankees year to return to the World Series.
