God, I hate to hear this. My favorite all time Met.

I wonder if it's related to the Lyme disease he had. He was having memory and speaking problems when it was at its worst.

        Yeah, as I thought...

On Wednesday, Newsday reported former teammate Art Shamsky said in his book, “After the Miracle,” that Seaver is dealing with “short-term memory loss,” an issue that can be traced to Lyme disease, which Seaver contracted in 1991. Shamsky also relayed conversations with former Met Bud Harrelson, who has been spending time with Seaver.

Good that he has his wife and his vineyard. Something to give him some joy even in declining state.

Just terrible news, hopefully he can live out the rest of his life happy in his vineyard. It's got to be tough on Nancy and his family seeing him this way,

Looks like he’s getting the statue that fans, and others, including Nancy Seaver, have been clamoring for since Citi Field opened.

The sad thing is, as great as this statue will perhaps be...it will only be the latest chapter on how this organization shit on him for years.
