MSG Network, with no teams currently in season, has gone a decidedly different direction with its midday programming, adding VSiN (Vegas Stats & Information Network) sports betting network’s show, “Follow the Money” to the lineup, 1-4 p.m. weekdays.
While rival RSN SNY customarily airs replays of SportsNite and Mets games past and present, and YES slates some of its original programming like CenterStage, Yankees Classics and Homegrown as well as the N.Y. based Michael Kay show, MSG hopes to grab the attention of fans who like a little action to go with their sports. Racing from Belmont, “High Roller” an WPT Vegas poker help fill the weekday hours on the flagship channel, with a variety of action/racing programming on Plus.
Hosted by Mitch Moss and Paul Howard, the 3-hour “Follow the Money” is touted by VSiN as an “informative and entertaining sports talk show that blends actionable betting information with irreverent commentary and gambling stories.”
“MSG Networks is the best possible broadcast partner to reach sports fans and betting enthusiasts throughout the New York area,” said Brian Musburger, founder and CEO of VSiN, in a statement. “We’re thrilled to continue to work with innovators like MSG Networks to deliver sports betting news and information to the growing number of Americans wagering on sports. I’m excited to highlight our programming on the world’s biggest stage at the center of the sports and entertainment universe.”
VSiN has also indicated that its content airing on MSG Networks is also available on MSG GO, MSG Networks’ live streaming and VOD platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.
