The Nets’ Spencer Dinwiddie (@SDinwiddie_25) has remained largely under the N.Y. sports radar since joining the team in late 2016. The 25-year old U. of Colorado product has turned into one of the team’s best players, and one of the best reserves in the league, this year posting a career-best 14.2 ppg off the Brooklyn bench.
But it’s not Dinwiddie’s only significant contribution; he’s parlayed his success into his own shoe brand, designing a different pair for each game, then auctioning them off for charity.
His latest design? An ode to Stan Lee, co-creator of Marvel Comics and iconic characters like Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk and dozens more, who passed away at 95 on Monday. Dinwiddie wore them in Wednesday’s game vs. Miami.
Last week he created a pair in honor of Creed II in advance of its theatrical release next week.
