Alomar Thanks Yanks.
Robbie and his dad Sandy Alomar wanted to make sure that Randy Levine, Brian Cashman and the Steinbrenner family knew how grateful they where for allowing the Bluejays to have thier fantasy camp at George M Steinbrenner field.
Since it was at the same time as the Yankee fantasy camp it allowed many of the players from past Yanks and BlueJays teams to really reminisce.
The big topic of conversation was whether George Steinbrenner is finally going to get into the Hall Of Fame. George Bell the 1987 Most Valuable player made everyone laugh when he said ‘ I thought he got into the Hall of Fame a long time ago. What are those _ _ _ _ waiting for?
Roberto Alomar The BlueJays hall of Famer that’s running the Jays camp and has a vote on the veterans committee said, ‘I can’t tell you who I’m voting for however I have to agree with George Bell 100%.
Here comes the Judge.
Ralph Caputo the front desk security officer got to act like Aaron Judge during Halloween. Every one got a kick from his original outfit, I heard that even Aaron Judge got a big laugh out of it.
Boss already in Ted’s Hall of Fame.
Ted Williams thought that George Steinbrenner was the best thing to happen to baseball both on and off the field. Teddy Ballgame told the Boss that he would someday be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 2008 the Boss was actually inducted into the Ted Williams hall of fame with non other then Roberto Alomar.
Dick Biley, a Steinbrenner business associate and close friend of Ted Williams and David McCarthy the curator for the Ted Williams hall of fame both said that Ted would be very upset at the fact that the Boss was not already in the hall.
Didi and Gleyber already hard at work.
Didi Gregorius who recently had Tommy John surgery is already in Tampa at the Minorleague complex. He is already doing his rehab and was seen with Hall of Famer Robbie Alomar and Rookie sensation Gleyber Torres. During Robbies lunch break from his fantasy camp he spent time with both players so that he could give them encouraging words. The last time that Alomar gave a vote of confidence to a young Yankee middle infielder, his name was Jeter. If you don’t believe me just look at the picture.
Yankee V. P. On the mend
Howard Grosworth the long time Vice President of marketing for the Yankees at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa has made a very solid comeback from his physical ailment. I got to see Howard during the fantasy camp and I’m happy to report that Howard never looked better. Howard has always been one of the great people during the Steinbrenner era and beyond.
