With football season upon us and the New York Jets are starting to show signs of life with quarterback Sam Darnold, the team is also revving up the gameday experience and improving upon how the Jets fans can enjoy the game.
This year, the Jets are looking to bring the Hulk to MetLife. A partnership with Marvel will have the organization teaming up with the successful comic book brand to bring the Hulk to the Jets. On October 21st, the Jets will have the Hulk at the game, along with Thor (No, not Noah Syndergaard) as they play the Vikings. The first 15,000 fans will get a Hulk bobblehead doll and all fans will receive a Hulk vs. Thor poster. The Jets will also have a digital comic produced to celebrate the 1968 championship.
Speaking of that, since it’s the 50th anniversary, the club is planning big things to celebrate their Super Bowl III win. The Jets announced a variety of elements that will be featured during the Jets vs. Colts game on 10/14. The celebration will include a dinner honoring the 1968 team before the game, a halftime ceremony, a special TV show on WCBS airing on the anniversary of the game (1/12/19), and a White Out where the team will wear white jerseys and white pants with grey facemasks to commemorate the championship team. At the White Out, fans will have the opportunity to meet and greet Jets Legends and Flight Crew Cheerleaders, as well as purchase Super Bowl III anniversary items.
Of course, the goal is to win this year’s Super Bowl and if they do, fans can celebrate it with the Jets have partnered with fifth generation Napa Valley winemaker Joe Wagner, who has crafted the premium California Red Wine. It will be available in stores the week of the first regular season game against the Lions on 9/10.
The club will also have built partnerships with Def Jam, and the WWE.
Def Jam will focus on football, music, content and the in-game experience. That includes stadium music, including producing an original song when the team is introduced every home game.
Since WrestleMania XXXV is going to at MetLife in April, the Jets will team up with the pro wrestling circuit for Kids Day on 10/7 when Jets take on the Broncos. During the game, WWE Legends and Superstars will be at the stadium making appearances. There will also be kid-focused programming throughout the game, such as GenJets Kids Fest, a kid reporter, youth football games at halftime, a WrestleMania XXXV ticket giveaway and a video board featuring player’s favorite moments and a kids-cam during timeouts.
There is also going to be a 50/50 for charity and value meals that were introduced last season.
Food-wise, the Jets are introducing healthier options on the menu with some fresh juices. They are also expanding the Fat Rooster brand for new chicken options and new empanadas that feature, a number of styles for both meals and dessert.
Finally, the Jets will be adhering to NFL policy and having all ticketing on the mobile app. Fans can access their tickets by downloading the Jets official app and following the instructions.
