Foley’s NY Pub & Restaurant (18 W. 33rd St.) welcomes veteran sports reporter and first-time author Dominic Amore, who will sign copies of his new book, A Franchise on the Rise: The First 20 Years of the New York Yankees on Saturday, July 21, from 6-8 p.m.
The book focuses on the team’s first decade when they were known as the Highlanders (1903-1912), their move to Yankee Stadium, and their subsequent World Series win in 1923. Amore has vividly reconstructed events of more than a century ago in a scholarly and entertaining manner.
“We are proud to host a book signing for Dom Amore, a longtime Friend of Foley’s,” said Shaun Clancy, owner of Foley’s NY Pub & Restaurant. “Few people know as much about baseball and the Yankees as Dom. Anyone interested in the history of the Yankees will enjoy this book.”
Additionally, Foley’s will offer the “Dom Amore Burger” as its stuffed burger of the week. Named in honor of the longtime Yankees beat writer, the burger is stuffed with Italian sausage, topped with marinara sauce, and served in a mini pepperoni pizza with fries.
“Customers are going to love the Amore Burger,” Clancy said.
