Report: The Mets Are Looking To Make A Call For Castro

The Yankees gain could be the Mets gain as well.

With Starlin Castro going to the Marlins in the Giancarlo Stanton trade, the Mets plan on calling Derek Jeter to see if they could pry away their newly minted second baseman, according to a report in the NY Daily News.

The Mets are looking to sign of acquire a second baseman and have had interest in the past when Castro was with the Cubs. He would be a very good fit in Queens.

Castro is due $22.7 million over the next two years with a team option of $16 million in 2020. His contract would fit well with the Mets, but the Marlins are still looking to cut payroll.
