Empire City Casino will be the place to be for fans of “Big Blue” when two-time New York Giants Super Bowl champion Mark Bavaro appears in the casino’s Entertainment Lounge Saturday, August 26th beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The popular tight-end will meet and greet football enthusiasts, pose for photos and sign autographs before heading into Dan Rooney’s Sports Pub to watch the New York bragging rights pre-season contest between the Giants and Jets. Dan Rooney’s features over 40 large screen TVs with upscale pub food & cold brews available for purchase. Fans can order up a juicy NY strip steak or an award-winning burger and cheer on the G-Men as they tackle Gang Green just across the river at MetLife Stadium.
Bavaro is among one of the most popular Giants of the mid-eighties and was a key component on Coach Parcells’ Super Bowl XXI and XXV championship squads. He was a fourth round selection by the Giants in the 1985 NFL Draft following an All-American career at Notre Dame. Bavaro quickly emerged as a starter in his rookie season in 1985 and was renowned for his blocking, toughness and receiving ability as tight end. Known for his blue collar play, Bavaro was a two-time All-Pro and two-time Pro-Bowler. In 2011, he was inducted into the Giants’ Ring of Honor, which commemorates some of the most prominent figures in the franchise’s history.
While at the casino, attendees can take a chance on the record-breaking $2-million jackpot currently available only at Empire City Casino on the IGT Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars® slot machine just outside Dan Rooney’s, or dance the night away as Radio Riot, the tristate’s premier cover band, rocks out in the Entertainment Lounge.
