The Bridgeport Bluefish have named Paul Herrmann as the team’s new General Manger. Herrmann has been with the organization for nine years and was previously the team’s Assistant General Manager and Director of Baseball Operations.
“Paul is an experienced leader within the Bluefish organization and is extremely deserving of this promotion,” says Bluefish Principal Owner/CEO Frank Boulton. “We are excited to continue to build on the momentum the team has built throughout the past few seasons.”
Paul Herrmann is a Rutgers University graduate and spent two years with the school’s Athletic Communications department. Herrmann has worked with the New York Jets, New York Knicks, and the Sussex Skyhawks. He also worked for the Long Island Ducks as a media relation’s coordinator.
When asked if becoming a general manager was always a career goal, he said, “You can ask my friends and my teachers, my goal was always to become a general manager.”
Herrmann credits several influential people who helped prepare him for his current position, “Frank Boulton and Michael Pfaff were a tremendous help. As well as all of our previous general managers with the Bluefish were able to assist me.”
With the 2017 season just a few months away, “The plan is to stick with what we had working from last year and keep it going,” he said.
The Bridgeport Bluefish finished their 2016 season taking second in the Liberty Division (36-34). The team’s 20th season brings April 20th on the road. Their first home game will be on April 28th against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.
