Mancuso: All We Want For Our Sports Christmas

Let’s not forget the meaning of this Christmas Day and the gift of giving of what it means. More importantly as we gather with family and friends the gift of peace and hope as we move on to a New Year.

Thank you all, and as Managing Editor here, I can say for making NYsportsday.com successful with the growth and expansion to where we are today, and that is quickly becoming one of the top sports web sites in the business.

We are grateful to the staff of writers and columnists for their round the clock efforts. Grateful also to our leader, Joe McDonald for his persistence and dedication to making this work.

And on that note, thank you and blessings to the various professional teams in town and college personnel that allow us access to keep you informed.

A tradition for this writer continues with a brief Gift List that Santa hopefully left for your sports team under the tree.

For the Mets a healthy pitching staff and catcher, a bullpen arm and ridding one outfielder to get that necessary arm or another quality bat in the lineup.

The Yankees need for a starter in a questionable rotation and development of the youngsters. A Subway World Series is never out of the question.

Get the Jets formula to win in motion. And the Giants a playoff spot with a run to the Super Bowl.

The Knicks stay healthy and wise and playoff basketball back in New York and in Brooklyn with the Nets, as with the Jets, a formula to win again.

The Islanders becoming a team also with the right formula and opting out of their home arena that is not a fit of convenience for their die hard fans.

NYCFC and another season in March and a further run in the playoffs. And the Red Bulls doing the same and the creation of a soccer buzz in New York City at Yankee Stadium and the Red Bulls Arena.

The Fordham Rams make a deep run in the Atlantic-10 Men’s Basketball Conference, the Lady Rams do the same. St. John’s returns to prominence at the Garden and the Carnesecca Arena, and all the local teams making an impact to March Madness.

There are more winners with the successful U.S. Tennis Open, Golf Tournaments and the anxious return of pro boxing in New York. Hey. the MMA continues to also grow leaps and bounds here.

But the biggest gift is a win over a loss. Santa wants that for all of you in the world known as Fun and Games.

The Best to all this Holiday Season and once again from all of us the biggest gift of Thank You!
