Grilllo and Chappell Lead The Barclays After The First Day

The Barclays completed its first  day on Thursday with Patrick Reed and Martin Laird tied for the lead.with -5 par 66. Emiliano Grillo and Kevin Chappell where tied for Third place at -4 67.

Grillio said. after he finished his round, “The course was tough Its a great test, the last ten holes are really hard and you have to play from the fairway. or you’re going to hit very long irons there. I did the job well today.  I played well the first eight holes and played even from there.”  Grillo also said he keeps adding to his game it “doesn’t hurt you. Playing new events, Playing difficult events, difficult golf courses like this one (Bethpage Black) and if you play good enough you keep adding to yourself. “
Patrick Reed  liked his first day, He called it a “clean day” and said, “I feel like I hit the ball pretty solid, I hit  really two tee shots and I left that weren’t very solid I got away with one on ninth today by hitting it into the bush and getting it up-and-down. Besides that all the shots I hit even though might not have been down some of the lines I wanted to. I was still able to  attack.”
The FexCup leader Jason Day finished tied for seventh -3 68, Said he felt a bit rusty both mental and physical rust. It more that the sharpness wasn’t their.. He found his first time at Bethpage Black a bit of a walk, but he liked the layout of the course.
