The first Major League Soccer trading cards of 2016 are in the hands of soccer fans.
2016 Topps Major League Soccer hits stores today and is filled with base cards, inserts, autograph cards and relic cards, which contain pieces MLS of soccer kits. Each hobby box of 2016 Topps Major League Soccer trading cards includes two autographs and a jumbo relic.
The 2016 Topps Major League Soccer set includes cards that are autographed by many of MLS’s top players. Many first-time signers for Topps include international stars and young prospects such as Frank Lampard (NYCFC), Sebastian Giovinco (Toronto FC), Khiry Shelton (NYCFC) and Kellyn Acosta (FC Dallas).
In addition, rookie autographs are included in 2016 Topps Major League soccer for the first time in several years, including a card signed by 2015 MLS Superdraft No. 1 pick Jack Harrison, who plays for NYCFC.
“Our Major League Soccer trading cards get better and better every year,” said Zvee Geffen, Topps Brand Manager. “This year we have rookie autographs, many huge names on our autograph list, and compelling cards that soccer fans are going to want to collect.”
Several new additions to this year’s set of Topps MLS cards include the jumbo relic set entitled “Team Colors,” which includes pieces of jerseys from huge names such as Steven Gerrard (LA Galaxy), Kaka (Orlando City SC), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC) and more.
