NYC FC 2016 Schedule Released

New York City Football Club released its 2016 regular season schedule on Thursday, and it will feature 17 games at Yankee Stadium.

Patrick Vieira is the new Head Coach and they are looking forward to having the Big Three of Frank Lampard, Andrea Pirlo, and David Villa (pictured above) together for a full season.

NYC FC will start the season on the road in Chicago, as they will take on the Fire on March 6.

The Home Opener to usher in their second season will be on March 13 at 5:00 pm against Toronto FC.

They will play the rival Red Bulls three times, with the first two matches being played at Yankee Stadium.  The first match at Yankee Stadium is on May 21  and will be on FOX, while the second match will be played on July 3 and air on ESPN. The final match between the two, which will be played at Red Bull arena, is scheduled for July 24 and is also on FOX.

Five MLS Western Conference teams will make their first trip to Yankee Stadium in 2016: Vancouver on April 30, Real Salt Lake on June 1, Sporting Kansas City on July 10 (Fox Sports 1), LA Galaxy on Aug 20 (ESPN) and FC Dallas on Sept. 17.

The March 13 match with Toronto is the start of a four-game homestand, with Orlando City coming in on the 18th at 7:00 pm, the New England Revolution on the 26th, and Chicago on April 10 at 7:00 pm.

NYC FC then travels to Columbus to face the Eastern Conference champion Crew on April 16 and the Philadelphia Union on the 23rd.

They close April with two games at Yankee Stadium, facing the Montreal Impact on the 27th and Vancouver Whitecaps on the 30th.

They start May with a tough three-game road trip, with DC United on Sunday the 8th, the defending MLS Cup Champion Portland Tuimbers on the 15th, and Toronto FC on the 18th.

After that, they have a four-game homestand at Yankee Stadium, with the Red Bulls on May 21 at 3:00 pm and Orlando City on May 29 at 4:00 pm, Real Salt Lake on June 2, and Philadelphia on June 18. They close June with a game in Seattle against the Sounders on June 25.

July begins with them hosting the Red Bulls on the 3rd at noon. They then have a four-game road swing, at New England on the 6th, Sporting Kansas City on the 10th, Montreal on the 17th, and at the Red Bulls on the 24th at 1:oo pm. They host the Colorado Rapids on the 30th to close out the month.

NYC FC start off August with two road games, at the San Jose Earthquakes on the 5th and Columbus on the 13th. They return home to face the LA Galaxy on Saturday the 20th at 3:30 pm. They close the month with a match in Orlando on the 28th.

In September, they host DC on the 1st and travel to Foxborough to take on New England on the 10th. They then have a two-game homestand, with FC Dallas on the 17th and Chicago on Friday the 23rd at 8:00 pm. September closes with a game in Houston against the Dynamo on the 30th.

October features just two games, as they will travel to DC on the 16th and finish the regular season at Yankee Stadium against Columbus on Oct. 23 at 4:00  pm.
