Jets and Eric Decker To STOMP Out Bullying

The New York Jets are proud to announce a season long partnership with STOMP Out Bullying, the leading national anti-bullying and cyberbullying organization for kids and teens in the United States. Jets wide receiver Eric Decker will join STOMP Out Bullying to launch the campaign in a public service announcement during tonight’s game broadcast on CBS 2 and ESPN NY 98.7 radio.

Through this important campaign, the team hopes to raise awareness about the devastating impact of bullying, and empower educators and teens alike with educational resources to help put an end to bullying. The PSA encourages educators in the tri-state area to register for free Jets branded STOMP Out Bullying Educator’s Prevention Toolkits that will be gifted to the first 1,000 schools to register.

“We are pleased to partner with STOMP Out Bullying, who have spearheaded the fight against bullying for the past 10 years, on this critically important bullying prevention campaign,” said Neil Glat, New York Jets President. “We hope that schools will take advantage of these powerful educational resources to help create more open, inclusive school environments where no child has to live with the devastating impact of bullying.”

“We are excited to join forces with the New York Jets and Eric Decker,” said Ross Ellis, Founder and CEO of STOMP Out Bullying.  “Bullying and cyberbullying have reached growing proportions, with one out of every four kids being a victim. By starting conversations about the impact of bullying and having role models like Eric Decker take a stand against it, we are one step closer to putting an end to all forms of bullying and keeping our kids and teens safe.”

The Prevention Toolkits include a variety of resources for educators to create meaningful dialogue around bullying, educate students through proven Social Emotional Learning methods, adopt character building in schools, and involve both students and faculty to change school climate and take a stand against bullying.
