New York City FC have announced three new Youth Affiliate Clubs, taking their growing roster up to 11 teams.
TSF Academy in New Jersey, the Long Island Rough Riders and Beachside CT Soccer Club in Southern Connecticut join the program, which is intended to provide a pathway for local young players to reach the highest levels in a structured and professionally-supported environment.
The program remains open for further expansion, with teams invited to make formal expressions of interest through the Club’s website (http://www.nycfc.com/academy/youth-affiliates).
Rodrigo Marion, Youth Technical Director at New York City FC, said:
“We are extremely pleased to see our Youth Affiliate network growing. As a new MLS team, it is extremely important that we develop an infrastructure within our community to help to identify and develop youth talent. We are already working closely with eight clubs and we are very pleased to have TSF Academy, Long Island Rough Riders and Beachside CT Soccer Club as part of our program.
“We are at the beginning of an exciting process to find the best and most positive way of inspiring and supporting young players from this community to be good people and good soccer players and look forward to sharing more news soon.”
