Mookie Wilson To Sign Books at Yogi Berra Museum May 5

Former Mets star Mookie Wilson, one of the most popular players in team history, will discuss and sign copies of his new book: “Mookie: Life, Baseball and the ’86 Mets” at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center on May 5 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.  The Museum is located on the campus of Montclair State University.

Admired for his legendary hustle, Wilson was an electrifying centerfielder who helped make the Mets the toast of New York in the 1980s, culminated by the team’s astonishing 1986 world championship. Upon retirement he has served as an unofficial team ambassador, although he was dismissed as first base coach by the Mets in 2011 without explanation.

Wilson’s questioning of the team’s current regime in his book has led to recent controversy. He is currently preparing to become a Christian minister.

Wilson will sign books purchased at the Museum (free admission plus guest with book purchase). Signed books can also be shipped. For more info, call (973) 655-2378.
