Pettitte, Cashman To Assist Taylor Hooton Foundation Benefit Aug. 11 At Yankee Stadium

All-time Yankee great Andy Pettitte and Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Cashman will assist the Taylor Hooton Foundation in its crusade against steroid abuse at the Fourth annual “Give A Hoot” Benefit at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, August 11, when the Bronx Bombers host the defending American League Champion Detroit Tigers.

In addition, former Yankee All-Star outfielders Roy White and Mickey Rivers will watch the game with guests of the event in a Stadium Luxury Suite.

Pettitte, who ranks first among active Major-League pitchers in wins (250), starts (502), strikeouts (2,372) and innings-pitched (3,199.0), will greet donors and sponsors while Cashman, the first GM to win four World Series titles since the Dodgers’ Buzzie Bavasi in the 1950’s and ‘60’s, will participate in a question-and-answer session.

For information, sponsorships and tickets, call (972) 403-7300 or email [email protected].

Individual tickets are priced at $499.00 and include a suite ticket to the game; lunch and refreshments; the meet-and-greets with Pettitte, White and Rivers and Q & A with Cashman; a hand-signed 11” x 14” color action photograph of Pettitte, presented in a pinstriped mat; and a Yankee-themed gift bag.

There are a wide variety of sponsorship and ticket packages available which include one-in-a-lifetime opportunities to watch a game from the General Manager’s suite behind home plate, participate in a pre-game ceremony at home plate with a current Yankee star and a behind-the-scenes tour of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY.

Don Hooton, whose 17-year-old son Taylor took his own life in 2003 as a result of the use of anabolic steroids, formed the Foundation and will host the benefit. The fundraiser will get underway at 12:00 noon at the Stadium.
