2 - freaking - 0 already! Good to see that they improved the defense.

Could someone tell me who was the expansion team and who was in the MLS Cup Final last year?

For an expansion team, Seattle has an impressive team even without Ljunberg. I wouldn't be suprised to see them as major contenders this year.

Plus the best coach and a great atmosphere (at least for now). It would be nice to have an owner like Drew Carrey too, who's out there telling anyone who'll listen about his team...

I had a tough week overall, but sports-wise, nothing hurts more than this game last Thursday. Yes, United lost twice in a row and I'm concerned, but at least they played with heart. The Red Bulls had no heart, no pride, nothing. I've seen games that teams that are down by 5-6 goals with more pride than what I seen in Seattle. This is the worst loss I have ever seen from this team (and I seen some tough Metrostar/RBNY losses).

Considering the way they surprised people last year, this is supposed to be the year they FINALLY get out of being one of the laughing stocks of the MLS. They may eventually do that, but to have a start like that on national television is a disgrace. They were outplayed, outcoached (WHO puts their best scorer by himself on the front to get covered by 4-5 defenders?!?), out-everything.

Yeah, that was terrible -- but there some key injuries and a few players out of position. I hope to god they give up trying to play Rojas off Angel and let him pair up with Stammler (forget Pietravallo, he's TERRIBLE) with Smith and Richards on the wings and Kandji playing just off Angel. And dear god, I hope Boyens isn't terribly injured because Petke and Mendes getting any steady playing time in the back is trouble.

I do not pretend to be as knowledgeable on MLS, but any insight from you guys as to why the Metro Stars/ Red Bull franchise has been so poorly run (IMO, the run to the final last season now looks like fluke)? It is really difficult as a fan to back such a franchise. You'd think last postseason would have served to be a springboard to greater things, but the Red Bull have actually regressed... badly.
