Default CitiField concessions notes (Shake Shack)

Mets to offer food by famous restauranteur at Citi Field -- Newsday.com

Not that I'll ever be able to get into CitiField; but if you like Shake Shack, some good 'cue, Belgian frites and tacos (of course), you're in luck.

I'm still shocked that his Union Square Cafe never won a Michelin

The starting lineup is being assembled for the food that will be offered at Citi Field, the Mets’ new stadium, which is scheduled to open next spring. The management of the Mets and Aramark, the Philadelphia food service company that is in charge of food in the stadium, have confirmed that Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group will open a Blue Smoke barbecue restaurant; a Shake Shack stand; Pop Fries, serving Belgian-style hand-cut fries; and a taqueria.

They couldn't find a NEW YORK food company? Come On!

They're a major firm, wouldn't be surprised if they are ranked amongst the best in the country. They've been with Shea for quite some time now. Probably late 80s at least. Probably couldn't find too many New York based ones.

Plus they do business all across the country; in the newer parks they seem to do a great job of incorporating local vendors (here in Philly they brought in a bunch of local craft brews, a few cheesesteak places - including Tony Luke's, best in the city, IMO - and one of the best sandwiches ever).

This website is worth a look if you want to make yourself hungry.

I see Aramark trucks all over the highway on the way to and from work here in Jersey.

Aramark bought the Harry M. Stevens Co. about 10-15 years ago. The association with Aramark only continues a link that's been in place in New York City -- Polo Grounds, Ebbetts Field, Shea, the Garden, Meadowlands, all the racetracks -- for 100-plus years.

They better bring back Shaeffer and Rheingold or I'm not setting foot in that new stadium.

I'll miss the Mama's of Corona sandwiches if they are not available in CitiField.

Where the hell is the ramp for it? I never get to sit at field level but for the life of me I've never found the right ramp to reach the sandwich shop from another level. I know there's a mini kiosk for them on Mezz level but I heard the sandwiches aren't as fresh from there.
