| Again I ask - could a Bonds/Alou platoon in LF keep them both healthy enough to stay the hell off the DL? Even if you don't want a true L/R platoon, split the games evenly to keep them both fresh...Alou has less of a chance to get hurt if he's only playing every other day.

| This makes a little too much sense for the mets to do.

| If bonds is signed, delgado will still be the most hated person on this team.

| I thought this was a thread about Mr. 20-thousand mustaches.

| In Customer Service, you will here close to 10 complaints before you here 1 compliment. It is a tried and true theory that applies to just about any industry. People tend to be more vocal when they are displeased and when they are content , most of them just expect it. If you are a well run business and you take a poll on your satisfaction, even with the 10/1 ratio, you should do well. In this case I believe the "No to Bonds" is that vocal minority. I really do. It makes SOOO much sense to sign this guy. It is a low risk/high reward move and it could potentially fill a glaring Met need.

| That CANNOT be me. I've posted at metsblog once in my life, in 2006 or 7 when he was asking for a rhyme for Met starting pitching like "Spahn and Sain and two days of rain".. I had "Pedro and Tommy and cry to your Mommy", which was one of 2 or 3 recognized as best in show. Huh... Have I officially achieved crossover celebrity status?

| Senior Member | While I think normally the Mets would never consider it, regardless of who they had in the OF or their record there is this little nagging bit that Gary Apple brought up last night..... What would Bonds do for SNY viewership? It almost has the potential to be Howard Stern-esque (where the Bonds haters spend more time watching than the folks who are indifferent or supportive). I think it would also be a sign on who's running the show in the owners box. No way would Fred allow him to be signed....Jeffie on the other hand I really dont think gives a crap as long as it puts fans in the seats |

BTW, Cerrone's "poll" asked if you would want that "cheater" Bonds on your team...no wonder so many people voted no.
